Education

Reforms in early education can be in themselves a major lever of social change. They could lead the way to a more just and free society, a society in which the ultimate aim of production is not production of goods, but the production of free human beings associated with one another on terms of equality. Creative work freely undertaken in association with others is a core value of human life and, in a free and democratic society, workers should be masters of their own fate, not tools rented by employers. It is illiberal and immoral to train children to work not freely and intelligently, but for the sake of what is earned, in which case their activity is not free because not freely participated in.
